Community Fundraising

If you want to help diabetes wa but are not sure how, then why not get involved with a community fundraising activity! Organising fun activities in your community is a great way to help raise funds for Diabetes WA.

At Diabetes WA, we rely on people’s generosity to help us provide services for those living with, or at risk of, diabetes. Around 30 people in Western Australia are diagnosed every day with diabetes, which is why we appreciate all members of the community helping us to get our message out there!

If you interested in organising a community fundraising activity please download our diabetes wa community fundraising ideas document. You can also view the Diabetes Wa fundraising tips  document to help you get started.

The Great Australian Bite

The Great Australian Bite is a national fundraising event that takes place in april each year. This community participation event involving people and groups getting together to share a bite to eat and support diabetes wa by making a tax deductible donation. funds raised support our work within the Western Australian community including education, support and investment in clinical research towards a cure.

How can i get involved?
You can host your own 'bite' in the month of April by getting a bunch of people together and asking for donations to raise funds in support of diabetes.

Some great 'bite' ideas include:
  • A bbq with family and friends where everyone brings a plate
  • Combine a casual dress day at work with a healthy afternoon or morning tea
  • Turn your regular social group gathering into a 'bite'
  • Have teachers host a 'bite breakfast' for students
  • Turn your regular friday night drinks into a 'bite'
For more information on The Great Australian Bite event, please visit the website at www.greataustralianbite.com.au.
