Donations

At Diabetes WA, we pride ourselves on being able to provide vital services and programs to people living with diabetes. However, as a not for profit organisation, we can't do it alone!

It is through generosity, commitment and support from the Western Australian community that we are able to ensure these services are delivered and sustained for the future. You can help us to help others by donating now! Here’s how:

  • Donate Online
  • Phone (08) 9325 7699 and speak to our fundraising team
  • Mail the diabetes wa donation form to:
    Diabetes WA
    PO Box 1699
    Subiaco WA 6904
  • Fax the form to (08) 9221 1183
  • Become a regular giver by joining our Freedom Fighters program (details below)

Your donation will help to fund five key areas - awareness, education, support, advocacy and research - to support people living with, or at risk of developing, diabetes. For more information on donations or any of the initiatives listed below, contact a member of the fundraising team on (08) 9325 7699 or via email: info@diabeteswa.com.au

Bequests

A bequest is a gift which lives on after you have gone. it is a way of sharing your assets – money, property or valuables – that you may need now but can give to a worthy cause when you no longer need them.

Donations left in wills to diabetes wa are an essential component of the funds we need to provide and improve our support, education and information services for people living with, affected by or at risk of diabetes.

There are three major types of bequests:

  1. Specific bequests are gifts such as property, art works, jewellery etc made to a person or organisation.
  2. General bequests are usually sums of money or percentages of the value of your 'estate' made to a person or organisation.
  3. Residual bequests are what remains of your estate after the specific and general bequests have been distributed to nominated persons or organisations.

Please download the recommended wording to include diabetes wa in your will. we recommend that you seek professional advice when constructing a personal will.

Thank you to the Walker Society
In March 2007 Diabetes WA launched the walker society to acknowledge the generosity of those who have made a bequest to Diabetes WA. Walker Society members are respected for their forethought, kindness and commitment to Diabetes WA. Walker Society members also receive regular newsletters and invitations to Diabetes WA special events.

Gift in Memory

A special way to say goodbye
A gift in memory is a special way of honouring the memory of a loved one by donating to Diabetes WA. This is a tender way to remember the love and friendship you have shared whilst touching the lives of many others for years to come.

Upon receipt of the gift in memory, an acknowledgement letter is sent to the family advising them of your thoughtful gesture. Naturally, the amount of the gift is not stated.

To donate a gift in memory, complete the Donate Online form or contact us. We have gift in memory envelopes available upon request so contact us today.

Gift in Celebration

You can assist diabetes wa by requesting donations instead of gifts for your birthday, wedding, anniversary or special occasion.

Invite your friends and family to make a donation to Diabetes WA with a 'gift in celebration'. It is a fantastic gift, particularly for those who have everything! This is a positive and unique way of celebrating whilst supporting our work towards freedom from diabetes.

We will provide a tax-deductible receipt and thank you letter to everyone who made a donation to mark your special occasion. We will also notify you by mail of those who donated and the amount you have helped to raise. The amount of the gift is not stated unless requested by the gift giver.

To donate a gift in celebration, simply complete the Donate Online form or contact us. Special gift in celebration envelopes (to distribute previous to and/or during your special occasion) are available upon request.
