Private Consultations
Private patients may be referred to our Credentialled Diabetes Educators or Accredited Practising Dietitians for consultations. Private consultations with our Educators, at both our Belmont and Subiaco offices, commence at $90 for 45 minutes and can include education on the following:
• How to better manage your diabetes
• Self blood glucose monitoring
• Oral Hypoglycaemic agents
• Insulin initiation and titration
• Sick day rules
• Hypoglycaemia recognition and management
• Complication risk management
• Problem solving fluctuations in blood glucose levels.
• Influence of nutrition on blood glucose control.
• Benefits of physical activity.
Our Accredited Practising Dietitians can, in addition, provide your patient with nutritional assessment and advice tailored to their individual needs in addition to education upon the following:
• Influence of nutrition on blood glucose control
• Carbohydrate counting and information
• Weight management
• Blood lipid management
• Related health issues e.g. coeliac disease
• Complication management e.g. gastroparesis
• Hypoglycaemia recognition and management
Furthermore, Diabetes WA members receive a 10% discount off all consultations. Consultations for those possessing a DVA Gold Card are free. In addition, Diabetes WA can provide your practice with a private consult referral form compatible with most medical software (such as Medical Director).
