Aged Care Training
Diabetes WA offers a one day Aged Care Training package for staff working in Aged Care Facilities. The training provides participants with a good understanding of diabetes and the services available to their clients living with diabetes.
Topics covered in the training include:
• Overview of Diabetes WA and the NDSS
• Diabetes facts and figures
• What is diabetes
• Types of diabetes
• Signs and symptoms
• Nutrition and physical activity
• Stress
• Medications and insulin update
• Complications
• Overview of NDSS registrant programs
There are three options to access this training.
1. Diabetes WA's educators come to your aged care facility at a cost of $1800 + GST, for a full days' training. Catering is to be provided by the aged care facility.
2. You come to us. The cost is $150 per person for a full days' training. Please contact Diabetes WA for more information regarding dates and venue.
3. Diabetes WA's educators come to your aged care facility for 2.5 hours at a cost of $480 + GST. Please note that the content contained in this session will vary slightly from the aforementioned.
