Together with Heart Foundation and Cancer Council WA, we launched a new state-wide campaign, Draw the Line, in February 2009.
Recent National Statistics show
-242,033 Australians had type 2 diabetes as a result of being obese – a 137% increase since 2005
-644,843 Australians had cardiovascular disease as a result of being obese – a 70% increase since 2005
-30,127 Australians had colorectal, breast, uterine or kidney cancer as a result of being obese – a 47% increase since 2005.
