There has been a lot of attention given to trans fats in the media lately and many people are asking what they are and why they are a problem.

Useful tips on how to reduce your intake of trans fats:
-Avoid deep-fried fast foods and takeaways
-Limit manufactured biscuits, cakes, muffins, pies and pastries
-Choose a margarine with the lowest level of trans fats, and limit the amount you use
-Cut the visible fat off your meat and remove the skin off chicken
-Choose low fat dairy products, limiting cream and butter
