Regular screening

To find out if you have one of the two stages of retinopathy – early or advanced, it’s essential to have regular eye examinations every 12 months. An Optometrist, Eye Specialist (Ophthalmologist) or Diabetes Specialist can perform this examination. Symptoms don’t usually appear until the damage is done, so it is crucial you have regular retinal screening checks.
