Presented by Diabetes Educator Martina Chippindall

Advice about preventing and managing diabetes comes from every direction. Information can be both confusing and contradictory. This course is designed to help you make sense of what you’ve been told, explain the reasons behind the advice and give a practical guide to applying it to your own life.

Expect to leave with a clearer understanding of type 2 diabetes. You may be surprised to learn that managing blood sugars involves more than insulin, that cholesterol plays a role in health, and that there is more to GI than high fibre and avoiding potatoes.

This practical and informative session will include discussions about fat, sugar and fibre, the GI, and how to best interpret blood sugars. Let’s find a way to manage diabetes while continuing to enjoy what’s on the menu.
