Expressions of interest are now open for the Diabetes WA DAFNE program running in November.
DAFNE (Dose Adjustment for Normal Eating) is a comprehensive diabetes self-management course for people with type 1 diabetes, specifically focusing on carbohydrate counting meals and adjusting insulin doses to match. Conducted by two accredited DAFNE facilitators (diabetes educator and dietitian), the program has been shown to lower HbA1c levels, reduce episodes of severe hypoglycaemia and lessen diabetes-related distress.
Running for five full days from 9am to 5pm daily, and including 12 months follow-up support. The next program will run from Monday 14 to Friday 18 November.
Free for NDSS registrants.
