You’re Invited to Become a Diathlete!
Princess Margaret Hospital along with Diabetes WA will be holding a sports clinic and invite parents and young people with type 1 diabetes to attend. Two sessions will be held for individuals aged 10-13 years and 14-17 years, respectively.
Special guest Gavin Griffiths will be running the session to engage and encourage the participation of young people with type 1 diabetes.
Gavin, who also lives with type 1 diabetes, runs Diathlete Sports Clinics in the UK and is a passionate advocate for sport and exercise. He has accomplished over 70 ultra-endurance feats across five continents of the world, including once running 30 marathons in 30 days across the length of the UK. Gavin has shared his expertise at symposiums during major scientific conferences such as the International Society for Pediatric and Adolescent Diabetes and the International Diabetes Federation World Diabetes Congress.

Time (10-13 year old session): 9.15am registration for 9.30am start, 12:00pm finish
Time (14-17 year old session): 1.00pm registration for 1.15pm start, 3:30 finish
Venue: Sir James Mitchell Park, Cnr Ranelagh Crescent and Hurlingham Road, South Perth.
Parking: Carpark available nearby
Cost: Free – RSVP required, fruit for afternoon tea and water will be provided

Families are invited to join Gavin Griffith for an informal social picnic from 12.00pm – 1.00pm. Should you wish to come along for this, please bring your own food and drinks as catering will not be provided for lunch.
