Diabetes and Driving
It is a privilege to drive a motor vehicle and with it comes major perions and legal responsibilities and liabilities. Diabetes and Driving provides advice on the extra precautions needed to be taken to help maximise road safety.
Diabetes and Eating Disorders This booklet has been developed for people with type 1 diabetes, and their families and friends to explain the different types of eating disorders and why people with type 1 diabetes may be at higher risk of developing an eating disorder. This resource provides details on where to find more information and where to get help and support across Australia. Can I Have a Healthy Baby? This resource is focused on the needs of women who have type 1 or 2 diabetes and are pregnant, or are planning a pregnancy. Health professionals offer information and advice about the importance of planning your pregnancy. In addition, the booklet includes some real-life stories from women with diabetes. Gestational Diabetes - Caring for yourself and your baby The NDSS has developed a booklet for women with gestational diabetes. The booklet provides comprehensive information about gestational diabetes, its management and where to get assistance when it's needed. This booklet will be sent to every woman diagnosed with gestational diabetes when registering with the NDSS. Life After Gestational Diabetes This booklet is designed to assist women who have had gestational diabetes, and their families, to understand how to take steps to reduce their risk of developing type 2 diabetes. Diabetes Information Flipchart for School Teachers The Diabetes Information Flipchart for Teachers and Staff provides useful information on diabetes management and treatment. All teachers with students with diabetes are encouraged to obtain a copy to keep on hand. Other Language Resources The below resources are also supplied by the NDSS through Diabetes Australia and are specifically tailored to members of the Arabic, Vietnamese, Turkish, Italian, Greek, Spanish, Korean, Chinese and Croatian Communities. Positively Managing Diabetes – Information for the Arabic Speaking Community This bilingual English/Arabic booklet explains how to manage diabetes including information on blood glucose monitoring, exercise and healthy eating.

Recipe Cards for the Turkish Speaking Community - Grilled Fish Recipe Cards for the Turkish Speaking Community - Turkish Soup These recipe cards are a bilingual resource in English and Turkish. Understanding Gestational Diabetes - Information for the Turkish Speaking Community This bilingual English/Turkish booklet explains gestational diabetes, how to manage gestational diabetes and what to do once the baby is born.
