Donna Barlow Travel
Donna Barlow Travel (DBT) is a specialist in holiday planning and tailored travel solutions specialised for Australians living with diabetes. Importantly, they assist Diabetes WA members in designing travel arrangements and acquiring travel insurance that covers people with diabetes. In addition, when you book with and purchase Travel Insurance with DBT, you – and anyone else who books insurance with you – will receive a 20% discount. . DBT will also provide a free $50 travel holiday voucher (with a minimum spend of $1,000).
As a Diabetes WA member, when you book your travel insurance through DBT you will automatically be covered for diabetes at no additional cost, providing you:
- were diagnosed more than six months ago
- have no eye, kidney, nerve or vascular complications
- do not suffer from a known cardiovascular disease, hyperlipidemia or hypercholesterolemia. (Hypercholesterolemia can be automatically covered provided you have no known heart conditions and either your blood sugar level reading is between 4 and 12 or your HbA1C score is 9% or less).
If you fall outside these guidelines or are 81 or older, you can still apply for insurance through DBT and, if accepted, pay an additional premium. Insulin pumps can also be covered for their full value at an additional premium.
By organising your travel insurance through DBT you will also be supporting Diabetes WA. DBT donates 5% of the proceeds back to us. DBT and associate Cruisescene also extend further negotiated rates to Diabetes WA members.

How much is a Diabetes WA membership?
