Living with Insulin workshop
Are you new to insulin, about to start insulin or have been on insulin for a while and would like a refresher?
This session provides you with key information to help you understand insulin, the different products and equipment available, and the importance of looking after your blood glucose levels. At the end of this session you will leave with practical tips and tools that will support you to feel more comfortable and confident in caring for your diabetes.
This three-hour session covers:
- what insulin does in your body and why you need it
- products, supplies, and storage
- injection techniques
- blood glucose monitoring and hypo/hyperglycaemia
- diabetes and driving
NOTE: The Living with Insulin Program does not cover how to calculate insulin dose adjustments, but rather covers things for you to consider. We recommend you discuss further queries with your health professional.
For people living with type 1 and type 2 diabetes.
